Tonight Xena and I practiced our new Parellel Walking Game for the second time. We’re showing some improvement, and Xena is trying so hard to understand what it is I’m asking. She concentrates fully on me when we’re walking along the center line, which puts the pressure on me to be accurate in my commands and phases.
In our first session at Parallel Walking she responded as if I’d asked for a circle, and she was probably right, as I was still trying to figure out how to ask her to walk forward from a distance. Tonight we’re beginning to get the idea and she no longer steps into a circle, although at times I felt like I may have been asking for too much. Using clear and tidy phases is one of the most challenging skills for me.
Xena is so intelligent and so eager to please, I often wish I was more skilled for her. Thank goodness she’s also very forgiving.
